Systran 6.0 Benefits

Jun 18th, 2007 by Julia

A Simplified User Experience – A Translator and Dictionary in One Product

SYSTRAN 6 integrates bilingual terminology from Larousse, France’s most widely known dictionary editor that publishes bilingual dictionaries in major European languages. This integration allows users to look up words and terms and review alternative meanings. The Larousse bilingual dictionaries complement SYSTRAN’s translation technologies.
SYSTRAN 6 equips users with a unified tool for writing and translating. Users may browse through the dictionaries as well as translate expressions or entire sentences. The Larousse Chambers French-English and the Compact Italian-Spanish, French-Portuguese, French-Italian, and French-German dictionaries are also integrated into SYSTRAN 6.

A New Interface Increases User Productivity

SYSTRAN 6 contains a new and intuitive translation toolbar that is fully integrated into the Windows desktop environment. As a dedicated translation tool that is always available, the SYSTRAN Toolbar appears within Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office applications, and also within Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox Web browsers. Full integration within the user environment provides increased user productivity and preserves the original layout of documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and emails.

The Most Comprehensive Set of Language Pairs Enhances Multilingual Communication

SYSTRAN 6 contains new linguistic resources created from automated analyses of large amounts of content from the Internet utilizing specialized search tools. Billions of words were analyzed to produce millions of new terms and expressions. The data was selected, coded and translated by SYSTRAN’s team of linguistic experts. SYSTRAN’s terminology resources have been increased by more than 120% over its previous version. Each language features the most complete vocabulary of modern expressions. SYSTRAN 6 now handles millions of forms and derived expressions for each language.

Perfect Integration within Microsoft Windows and Vista Increases User Productivity

The SYSTRAN 6 launch coincides with Microsoft’s launch of Windows Vista to the general public. SYSTRAN 6 supports Windows Vista and is integrated within the new Microsoft Office System 2007 ribbons, and supports Microsoft new document formats. The SYSTRAN Gadget for Windows Vista also makes it possible for everyone to use the SYSTRAN translation engine available in Vista pane.
